Story one:

The one being blackmailed

The Blackmailer

Story one

is the murder detective story. 

The story starts off with the secretary delivering  message from an anonymous person saying that they know that he has been padding his accounts and to meet this person at a drop off point to exchange evidence for money. They meet in some dark club.  The one being blackmailed brings the money and the black mailer brings the files. Both of them chat and end up in an argument. The blackmailer tries to take all of the money but only give the one being blackmailed only half of the evidence.  It enrages him and he clobs the blackmailer with a broken chair leg. He hides the body. The secretary who was the blackmailers accomplice and was lurking behind the scenes at the drop off  tells the police about the murder. A detective comes and he and the secretary solve the case. The one being blackmailed ends up in jail.

Story two is a robbery case:

It starts off with the victim being spotted as the possible target. Then  they stalk her. After that they use tactics to get her to move from a safe area only to be cornered and cut off in some tunnel by the two. They will be armed. However, after they jack her, they will find out all along that she had the upper hand. the necklace they stole was a fake and the real one was in the book she was reading at the table all along.

UPDATE on experimenting

 This is an example of the silk jet being put on top of the pour on substance. It takes about 5-6 hours for it to dry.  I am worried about the clearness of the projection. When I used a small flashlight it didn't show up as clear as I wanted it to be. So i am going to ace hardware today to get a better one and more pour on.

This is an example of the pour on dry and then the ink aid put on top. After I put the ink aid on I put the silk jet in on it while it was wet. This is what happened. The ink aid doesn't help. 

Here I have started with  an new layer of pour on. I am going to experiment with the layering picture thing next.

Postmodern Response

How is your project a postmodern work? 




Modernists liked to be pure in their use of  their medium. My project doesn't use just one medium.  I am using photography and alternative digital print methods.  Postmodernists are more open to the use of  a variety of many different sources, media, and imagery.  Unlike postmodernists, modernists liked works that were not of ordinary people, objects,  events and etc. I shoot ordinary people for my project. If I were a modernist I would shoot only famous and rich people.   Postmodernist are skeptical and critical of their times, while modernists didn't create works that would question their times.  My works postmodern because my work questions where the presence of African Americans in film noir. It also questions how much violence kids see. For my project I shot my little cousins as well.  I gave them directions but the fell into poses by themselves. I told one act like the bad guy,  other your the  detective, and the last one you are the victim.  They picked the weapon, and i did not. My cousins immediately picked a toy gun as their weapon of choice.

Story ideas

I know that there are gaps missing in the two stories that I already have, and I am thinking  of ways to fill those gaps. The first story will be about blackmailing, the next one with the kids will be about revenge, and the last story(which I am currently gathering models for) will be about 2 women scamming a guy out of his money. In the first story I am missing the murder scene, and the scene showing that he is blackmailing him. The second story I am missing the what the revenge is for, and I leaning toward the murder of a sibling  over wrongfully putting a sibling in jail.  For the one where the women are scamming some hapeless guy out of his money, I am unsure under what circumstances and where the money is coming from.  For the intro blackmailing one the one being blackmailed will get a note on his desk at work delivered by the femme fatale(the secretary), which explains that he is being blackmailed.  The death scene for this will be easy because it will be a head blow that kills the blackmailer. After he falls the femme fatale and the one being blackmailed will carry out his body and ditch it somewhere. Basically I am going to use the vacant plot of land next to my house for them to dump him. So for the second story I have to shoot the revenge and the chase scene from both sides. For the last one i am thinking about it being a health insurance scam or investing scam.

Update

I am going to change the cube into just panels  and there will still be spirals but I will make they less curvy . The walls will be made of  styrofoam and wood, while the top that will support the spiraling structures will be metal poles. I am going to visit woodshop this week to see how that can be done. It's either that or the room is already dark.

This is how my display will look. Another part of the display will be that the audience will be equipped with flashlights to shine though the transparent cubes. The cubes will be transparent so the images on the cubes will be reflected on white pieces of paper that I will put up. I may change the cubes to just panels instead.The panels will be connected with metal tubing. When the audiences walks into this spaces I want it to be dark and they are supposed to use the flashlights to figure out the stories.
